Pray For The Kids

  • “I guess it was the late eighties the first time I noticed the pictures of missing children on the wall in the Walmart entrance. At the time I was a young pastor and had with me my wife and three small children. I recall saying to my wife "what is this?" thinking these kids in the pictures must be in some kind of trouble. When she explained to me that they were someone's kids who were missing. I was very emotionally moved and couldn't get over it. I just kept staring at the pictures; thinking, this is the absolute worst thing that could happen to a family. I think God allowed me to feel that in that moment for a purpose.”

“I decided right then and there; I was going to help in some way. I wanted to find a missing child! I even asked God to point one out to me so I could be the hero and rescue a child. I watched in my community, as I still do, for a child that looks in distress or in a suspicious situation. Well, all these years later and I have never personally found a missing child.”

  • One day, 20 plus years later, it just dawned on me. GOD KNOWS WHERE THEY ARE! Maybe if we prayed earnestly enough...Maybe if enough people prayed; God would intervene. I called my three sons, one grandson, and now two daughters in law together. So we, as a family, would pray for missing kids and start a ministry to encourage others to "pray for the kids". By this time I was no longer a pastor but doing music and preaching evangelism. So I was in a lot of small churches. Our plan was to print pictures of missing kids on to a business card and encourage people to take a card and pray for a child earnestly, as if it were your own missing child. We found the online source for published pictures from the very same group that had posted in Walmart. And just like that, PRAY FOR THE KIDS was born! I began to display the cards on my product table at every concert and asked folks to take a card and pray for a missing child. It is amazing to watch people view the display of pictures and become so emotional as they chose a child to pray for. I truly believe it's the heart of GOD on display.

  • Now anyone who has ever worked for GOD knows He has a unique way of confirming Himself in our work for Him. By our second family meeting I had chosen from the 160 online photos, a specific child to pray for. My daughter in law Uvanna had also chosen one, and had printed a photo for her and my grandson Joseph to pray for at bed time. My other daughter in law, Lisa was doing the card printing and had picked a "random" photo to show as an example card. Out of 160 photos, we all three had chosen the same child. THANK YOU JESUS for Your conformation!!

By the way, that child was found soon after, only two doors down from his home. He had already gone to be with Jesus. I have to believe that our prayers brought Him comfort in those last hours. Pray for God to be with these poor missing children. PRAY FOR THE KIDS....

  • Since the inception of this ministry there have been thousands of cards printed and multitudes of prayers gone up in behalf of these missing kids and their families. But, the work has only just begun. We are now searching for ways to expand this ministry so even more can be done. We covet the prayers of God's people. Pray for us and PRAY FOR THE KIDS...

  • One day I was talking with a good friend of mine who is a fellow evangelist. We were talking about the PRAY FOR THE KIDS ministry. I said you know a lot of missing kids are just with the wrong parent and I maybe that's not such a bad thing. He looked me in the eye and told me his story. Without the right to do so, his ex had taken his youngest daughter to another state a thousand miles from home. For twelve years he didn't know where she was. One day, out of the blue, he received a letter from her. She had somehow secretly found his address and reached out to him. He said I got in my truck that day and drove to Texas and brought my little girl home. Wrong parent situations need prayer too. PRAY FOR THE KIDS...

We are so glad you are here! Every Sunday, we will feature a different child who needs your prayers. Please feel free to visit us every week. You can then keep a different child in your thoughts and prayers every week.
